Financial Aid Technician – Part Time

About the role

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a part‑time Financial Aid Technician to support students at the Whitfield Murray Campus and other locations. The role involves direct interaction with students and the public, providing accurate information on financial aid options and processing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer telephone inquiries, delivering general financial aid information.
• Evaluate financial aid applications and supporting documents for completeness and basic eligibility.
• Update Banner system screens related to document intake and application status.
• Instruct students on proper completion of forms, special requirements, and required documentation.
• Analyze application status, escalating complex cases to the Financial Aid Coordinator.
• Perform additional clerical and customer‑service duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in a classroom or office environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Banner financial aid software.
• Basic computer operation and data‑entry capabilities.
