About the role

The Office of Financial Aid at Tarleton State University seeks a Financial Aid Advisor I to counsel prospective and current students and their families on financial aid and scholarship options. This full‑time position supports students through phone, email, and in‑person appointments while contributing to outreach and workshop initiatives across campus and online.

Key responsibilities

• Counsel students and parents on individualized financial aid information and assist with FAFSA/TASFA completion.
• Monitor office email, respond to inquiries, and provide timely guidance via phone, virtual meetings, and in‑person sessions.
• Conduct outreach events, workshops, and presentations to promote financial aid resources.
• Assist with verification processes, special circumstance appeals, and intake of required documentation.
• Serve as Campus Security Authority and represent the office at campus events and orientations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Customer‑service mindset with high accuracy and deadline orientation.
• Ability to organize, make decisions, and multitask in a dynamic environment.
