Finance & Strategy Lead – Claude Platform (API)

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a senior Finance & Strategy leader to own the financial strategy for the Claude Platform (API). You will work closely with product, engineering, inference, and go‑to‑market teams to shape pricing, packaging, and new business models that drive revenue and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial strategy for the Claude Platform, including pricing, packaging, discounting, and commercial terms across self‑serve, enterprise, and cloud partner channels.
• Design and launch new business models such as capacity commitments, service tiers, and usage‑ or outcome‑based pricing.
• Set pricing for new product features, balancing adoption, capacity, and margin.
• Partner with infrastructure and inference teams to translate cost‑to‑serve changes into pricing decisions.
• Collaborate with product leaders on roadmap priorities, launch sequencing, and business cases.
• Present pricing, investment, and trade‑off recommendations to executive leadership with supporting analysis.
• Define metrics to evaluate pricing and business model performance and build dashboards for tracking.
• Work with FP&A, accounting, deal desk, and revenue operations to ensure accurate forecasting, billing, and reporting.
• Mentor Product Finance team members and shape the team’s analytical approach.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic or product finance with ownership of pricing or business‑model decisions.
• Hands‑on experience with consumption‑based or usage‑based business models and forecasting.
• Background in infrastructure, cloud, or developer platform businesses and understanding of compute cost drivers.
• Proven track record designing and launching new pricing or business models.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and ability to analyze data in SQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication, capable of explaining financial trade‑offs to cross‑functional audiences.
• Interest in AI and commitment to Anthropic’s mission of safe, beneficial AI.
