Finance Business Partner, US/Canada

About the role

Surventis is hiring a Finance Business Partner in Southfield, Michigan, working in a hybrid setting. The role is the central local finance contact for the USA, acting as the link between business units, the third-party business process provider (BPO) and Corporate Accounting. It is a permanent position within the Finance, Controlling & Audit department.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that country-specific requirements such as US GAAP, IFRS and local tax laws are correctly reflected in the local financial statements.
• Act as the local caretaker for accounting and controlling topics, owning the local balance sheet and P&L.
• Own end-to-end local processes, maintain high quality standards in the region and be the primary point of contact for compliance matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, controlling, business administration, economics or a related field; CMA or CPA certification is an advantage.
• 5+ years of combined accounting and controlling/FP&A experience in a multinational corporation.
• Experience in the chemicals industry or related sectors, especially during transitions or carve-outs, is highly beneficial.
• Fluency in English is required; authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis is needed.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting and management accounting processes, local GAAP, IFRS and process optimization methods.
• SAP R/3 and S/4, BI tools (e.g. Power BI, SAC), process mapping tools and advanced MS Office.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
