Finance Analyst

About the role

ABB is hiring a Finance Analyst in New Berlin, Wisconsin or Houston, Texas, working in a hybrid model. Reporting to the Division Controller, the analyst shapes the story behind the numbers: digging into the drivers of business performance, building financial models and turning data into clear insights that influence decisions. The role sits at the heart of planning and strategy, supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning, and presenting findings directly to management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business performance against budget and forecast and propose improvement actions.
• Identify drivers of financial performance and trends through financial modeling and variance analysis.
• Support financial reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Validate financial data through reconciliations and exception reviews.
• Gather and summarize data, prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Develop automated solutions, eliminate duplications and coordinate information needs to improve productivity.
• Ensure processes and controls follow internal policies and regulations, maintain audit trails and documentation for tax, internal and external audits, and take part in risk reviews.
• Assist the project team in driving revenues and project cash flow, and ensure adherence to corporate governance, assurance, internal controls and finance directives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• Technical background with experience in finance, accounting and project management.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting or a related role preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• US work authorization and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, business performance management and project controlling.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel), ERP systems (SAP preferred), financial analytics tools and Power BI.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
