Field Service Technician II – AMS

About the role

This position performs basic to advanced maintenance on gas compression packages, assisting senior technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of gas‑fired and electric‑driven compressors. The role provides on‑the‑job training to progress toward a senior service technician level.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Enerflex professionally and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and timesheets daily.
• Diagnose engine and compressor failures independently and efficiently.
• Perform rebuilds, overhauls, and mechanical inspections of compressors, engines, and controls in the field.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and control panels such as Murphy and Altronic.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and start‑up inspections of new units.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Certified on CAT and Waukesha equipment (e.g., CAT Gas I & II, CAT Electrical, Ariel Basic/Mechanical, CAT 3500 ADEM III, CAT 3500ULB, Waukesha VHP).
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb, work in all climates, and stand, kneel, bend, or stretch around equipment.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshooting of electrical systems and unit control panels.
• Engine tuning and performance adjustment on CAT and Waukesha compressors.
• Proficiency with specialty tools for compressor overhaul and repair.
