Field Service Technician – Deep Foundation Equipment

About the role
We are seeking a Field Service Technician specialized in deep‑foundation equipment to diagnose, repair, and overhaul mobile machinery such as crawler cranes and drilling rigs across the United States. The role combines electrical and mechanical troubleshooting with on‑site service, ensuring equipment meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Test mechanical products after repair or modification to verify performance against specifications.
- Repair, replace, and overhaul damaged or worn parts on cranes and related equipment.
- Diagnose defects by operating and inspecting heavy machinery, using handheld computers, motor analyzers, pressure gauges and other test instruments.
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools, and verify dimensions with micrometers and gauges.
- Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment and vehicles.
- Complete required paperwork and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least three years of crane or heavy‑equipment service experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 90 % of the time and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
- Strong initiative, ability to work independently or in a team, and capacity to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with PC‑based word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Required skills
- Electrical theory and diagnostics for control equipment and circuitry.
- Mechanical theory and troubleshooting of heavy machinery.
- Operation of mechanical boom and cable equipment.
- Use of micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Interpretation of technical drawings, manuals and blueprints.
- Use of handheld diagnostic computers, motor analyzers and pressure gauges.
