Field Service Technician - Commercial Roofing

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is hiring a Field Service Technician for its new US commercial roofing division. The role trains new technicians and contractors, liaises with the contractor community and inspects commercial roofing jobs to ensure quality workmanship on IKO-warrantied installations. The initial focus is on training new Field Service Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Train and educate new Field Service Technicians in on-roof inspection techniques and in-shop contractor training sessions, reporting to the Technical Manager, Single Ply Systems.
• Liaise with the commercial contracting community and perform quality assurance inspections of ongoing and completed commercial roofing jobs.
• Prepare and deliver theory and hands-on product training for existing and potential Registered Contractors.
• Write inspection and quality assurance reports for internal and external customers.
• Work with contractors and distributors on product education and promotion, and investigate warranty claims when appropriate.
• Attend association events, internal meetings and company training, and follow health and safety and vehicle policies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of direct hands-on experience in commercial roofing.
• Extensive experience training single-ply roofing (TPO and PVC) to established standards.
• Experience with quality assurance and roof inspections with roofing contractors.
• Ability to read technical roofing documentation and specifications.
• Comfortable demonstrating and presenting product applications and training individuals and groups.
• Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and frequent travel with possible overnight stays; valid driver's license.
