Field Service Engineer - Solar

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is looking for a Field Service Engineer for its solar energy business. The engineer acts as the technical expert on all aspects of solar products, supporting successful installations and serving as the main point of contact for technical questions from customers and third-party suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority on solar hardware, guiding internal teams, contractors and customers.
• Train and mentor contractors on the installation, operation and maintenance of solar products.
• Develop, update and manage technical documentation such as installation manuals and datasheets.
• Provide technical support to customers and resolve product-related issues.
• Work with third-party suppliers of electrical equipment to ensure compatibility and performance.
• Analyse customer feedback and product performance data to support product improvement.
• Stay current on industry trends, standards and competing products.

Required profile

• 3+ years of field service engineering experience in solar or related systems such as batteries.
• Strong understanding of solar equipment, system design and installation best practices; solar and roofing experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of solar and electrical code and compliance.
• Proven experience in technical documentation and customer support.
• Comfortable presenting in an office or working with a crew on a jobsite, and able to work safely at heights.
• Ability to travel 25-50%.

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
