Field Service Engineer - Satellite Communications

About the role

CACI is seeking a Field Service Engineer to build, configure, maintain and field complex networking and satellite communications equipment at the TS/SCI level. The engineer sets the satellite communications network architecture for multiple customers and maintains expertise in network and computer hardware and software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, virtual machines and COMSEC. The role requires travel of up to 50% within the continental US and overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and test classified networking equipment, including multi-enclave networking suites and secure transport systems.
• Serve as subject matter expert on satellite communications systems, covering link initialization, troubleshooting and optimization.
• Troubleshoot system issues, isolate faults, maximize network performance, track bandwidth and provide Tier II and Tier III support.
• Configure and train customers on equipment such as virtual machines, VoIP, COMSEC devices and HAIPE-compliant inline network encryptors.
• Deliver hands-on instruction to military users on system setup, operation, troubleshooting and sustainment.
• Help develop training materials, technical design packages, point-of-interest guides, quick reference guides, operational user guides and procedures.

Required profile

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with counterintelligence polygraph.
• BA/BS with at least 3 years of full-time experience, or 4+ years with an associate degree, or 6+ years with no degree.
• Hands-on integration experience with secure networks, routers, switches, COMSEC devices and satellite/transport systems.
• Ability to travel up to 50% CONUS and OCONUS.
• Desired: DoD contracting experience, support of Army, SOCOM or IC communications systems, tactical networking background, and prior military training or training-development experience.

Required skills

• CompTIA networking certification or equivalent.
• Hands-on integration with secure networks, routers, switches, COMSEC and satellite systems.
