Field Inspector – 1099 Contractor

About the role

Seek Now is looking for independent 1099 contractors to perform accurate, impartial home and commercial property inspections. As a Field Inspector you will be the frontline expert collecting critical data for insurance, facility management, and real‑estate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Access and inspect steep or high roofs, lift and set up ladders and equipment up to 100 lb.
• Sketch, measure and scope roof or room components of various shapes and sizes.
• Perform complete inspections, documenting age, condition and any damage using proprietary mobile software.
• Travel to catastrophe‑affected areas on short notice, often for 2‑6 week assignments, with lodging provided.
• Utilize additional tools such as 3D cameras, drones and moisture meters as required.

Required profile

• Own a clean, reliable truck, van or SUV capable of transporting a 32‑ft ladder.
• Operational laptop and smartphone for data entry and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license, state‑issued workers’ compensation and general liability insurance.
• Ability to obtain HAAG certification within 90 days.
• Professional appearance and ability to work within a 100‑mile radius of your home market.

Required skills

• Operation of 3D cameras for detailed imaging.
• Drone piloting for aerial inspections.
• Use of moisture meters to assess material conditions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile data‑entry applications.
• Experience with proprietary inspection software on smartphones.
