Field Engineer – Civil Construction

About the role

Southland Holdings is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support civil construction projects across the Lake Charles, Vinton, and Beaumont area. The role involves on‑site construction administration, submittal tracking, and coordination with owners, architects, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
• Assist in managing project permit processes and preparing bid packages.
• Review and evaluate change orders, shop drawings, material data, and samples.
• Perform on‑site construction observation, monitoring contractor compliance with contract documents.
• Process as‑built drawings and ensure accurate project close‑out documentation.
• Coordinate meeting agendas, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (experience may waive degree).
• 1‑3 years of construction experience with a heavy civil general contractor.
• Ability to read and interpret contract specifications and drawings.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
