Fellow, AI Investigation & Incubation

About the role

We are looking for a visionary AI leader to drive investigation and early‑stage incubation of artificial‑intelligence capabilities within AVEVA’s product and platform portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Technologist organization, this VP‑level Fellow will shape the strategic direction of AI across the company and translate emerging research into real‑world solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a structured AI investigation strategy aligned with AVEVA’s strategic priorities.
• Design, prototype, and validate novel AI capabilities through rapid experiments and pilots.
• Incubate high‑impact concepts, moving promising ideas into cross‑functional development tracks.
• Ensure technical rigor in model selection, data usage, and evaluation practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, emerging‑tech innovation, and business development teams.
• Build and mentor a team of AI technologists, fostering a culture of innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in AI, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in AI/ML research, incubation, or innovation within complex organizations.
• Track record of research publications and conference contributions.
• Deep, up‑to‑date knowledge of cutting‑edge AI capabilities, especially foundation models for industrial applications.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $293,500 – $489,500 USD per year.
