Family Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Children’s Research Triangle (CRT) seeks a Family Engagement Specialist to connect families with high‑quality, trauma‑informed behavioral health services. You will build trusting relationships with parents and caregivers, help them navigate referrals, and ensure their voices shape treatment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with parents, caregivers, and children, empowering families as active partners in care.
• Guide families through behavioral health and community systems, facilitating referrals, connecting to resources, and removing barriers to care.
• Provide clear information on screening results, treatment recommendations, available services, and families’ rights and responsibilities.
• Support family participation in treatment planning, promote advocacy, shared decision‑making, and gather caregiver feedback to improve CRT programs.
• Collaborate with CRT clinicians and community partners in multidisciplinary meetings, representing the family perspective.
• Organize and facilitate caregiver workshops and peer‑support opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with CRT and partner activities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human/social services field.
• Minimum one year of direct social‑service experience with children and families.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, families, and community partners.
• Commitment to serving underserved children and families.
