Family Engagement Coordinator – Cadwell RYDC

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator to support families and youth at the Cadwell Residential Youth Development Center (RYDC). The role focuses on building strong partnerships, providing counseling, and ensuring families are actively involved in the juvenile justice process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide family counseling, referral, and evaluation services to assigned clients.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships between families and the juvenile justice system.
• Facilitate family involvement in case planning, decision‑making, and service delivery.
• Promote a family‑centered approach and advocate for family influence on youth well‑being.
• Deliver training and education to staff and families on communication and collaboration.
• Connect families with community‑based resources and services.
• Conduct intake services and mental health screenings for youth, ensuring timely completion.
• Participate as a member of the management team and support operational problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Experience providing counseling, referral, or evaluation services to families or youth.
• Ability to build and sustain partnerships with community agencies.
• Knowledge of the juvenile justice system and family‑centered practices.
• Strong organizational skills for coordinating intake, screenings, and resource referrals.
• Team‑oriented mindset with capacity to contribute to management discussions.
