Family Assistant / House Manager (Part‑time)

About the role

We are a busy family in Glen Ellyn looking for a reliable part‑time assistant to support our two school‑age children, manage household tasks, and help keep our home running smoothly during weekday afternoons and evenings.

Key responsibilities

• Drive children to and from activities, after‑care, and programs on Tuesday‑Thursday afternoons.
• Prepare 1–2 lunches and 2–3 dinners per week using simple, healthy recipes and handle basic meal prep.
• Maintain the kitchen, grocery stock, and pantry supplies.
• Wash, fold, and place laundry in each bedroom; rotate towels and linens.
• Perform light daily tidying, including dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high‑traffic areas, and seasonal clothing swaps.
• Care for the family dog: occasional walks, feeding, and daycare pickup.
• Run errands such as grocery deliveries, mail handling, returns, dry cleaning, and occasional gift shopping.
• Assist with deep‑cleaning projects like refrigerator cleaning and mudroom upkeep.
• Schedule routine vehicle maintenance and occasional fueling/cleaning of the family car.
• Maintain the household calendar, including kids' activities and weekly planning.

Required profile

• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable driving with reliable transportation.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to adapt to shifting schedules.
• Warm and patient with children and pets.
• Proactive communicator who welcomes feedback and can work independently.
• Authorized to work in the United States and up‑to‑date on vaccinations.
