Facility Assessor – Building Condition & Technical Assessments

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Facility Assessor to lead building assessment projects across commercial, institutional and municipal facilities. The role involves on‑site inspections, data collection, and preparation of detailed reports that support clients’ capital planning and compliance needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site Facility Condition Assessments, energy audits, ADA compliance checks, mechanical equipment evaluations and space utilization studies.
• Document findings with photographs, measurements and interviews, and produce written reports that include condition ratings, remaining useful life and cost‑estimate recommendations.
• Perform inventory surveys of building components, identify deficiencies, and calculate planning‑level repair or replacement costs.
• Communicate project status and potential issues to internal leadership and keep clients informed of delivery timelines.
• Travel extensively (30‑50% of work week) to client sites across the United States, often with back‑to‑back visits and overnight stays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years of experience conducting building assessments, inspections or related technical services.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, systems, environmental concerns and cost estimating principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Quire and AssetCalc software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other project‑management applications.
• Ability to operate an electronic tablet for live field data capture.
• Excellent written communication for preparing detailed technical reports.
