Facilities & Utilities Co-op

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a motivated Facilities & Utilities Co‑op to join its Facilities and Utilities team in Gurabo, Puerto Rico for a full‑time 12‑month term. This on‑site internship provides hands‑on experience supporting facility operations, utilities systems, technical projects, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support execution of technical projects under guidance of Facilities Engineering and Management.
• Analyze utilities and operational data to identify trends and contribute to technical reports.
• Participate in troubleshooting, equipment and process deviation investigations.
• Assist in root cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical challenges and implement solutions.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and revision of SOPs, forms, and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Completed at least freshman year of an accredited university.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Facilities Engineering or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
