Facilities Maintenance Mechanic – Richmond

About the role

The Facilities Management Department is seeking a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support the Richmond location. Reporting to the Building Services Supervisor, you will perform light repairs, preventive maintenance, and various support tasks that keep the facility safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Install simple office furniture and set up rooms for conferences, meetings, and events.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on non‑complex safety and operational equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair non‑complex accessories and fixtures throughout the building.
• Transport confidential documents for shredding and handle snow/ice removal and inclement‑weather cleanup.
• Use the work‑order system to retrieve tasks, record time, and ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations.

Required profile

• Experience installing furniture from brands such as Enhanced 9000, Steelcase, Montage, and Knoll.
• Experience operating pressure‑washing equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
