About the role
The Extension Plant Clinic & Education Assistant supports plant disease diagnostics and the Texas FIRST DETECTOR education program within the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. This position works closely with the Head Diagnostician of the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab and assists in outreach and educational activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support the TPDDL‑CS Head Diagnostician by performing diagnostic tests, recording data, managing plant samples, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Maintain, manage, and implement the Texas FIRST DETECTOR education program, including training, resource development, program evaluation, and volunteer recruitment.
- Assist PLPM program personnel in creating and delivering outreach materials to stakeholders.
- Perform other job‑related duties as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
