About the role
The Expert Mechanical Engineer (Utility Engineering) is responsible for thermal, refrigeration, waste‑water, compressed‑air, hazard‑gas, sustainability and compliance functions across Nestlé USA factories. The role links expertise in multiple industrial services areas to business needs, delivering safe, reliable and efficient utility operations.
Key responsibilities
- Coach and develop factory IS managers, supervisors and technicians, providing SME support for ammonia/refrigeration, boiler/thermal, compressed‑air and waste‑water system designs.
- Ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of industrial services, minimizing environmental impact and driving resource conservation.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local and Nestlé requirements from design through operation, reducing audit findings and enhancing safety behaviors.
- Produce and manage engineering deliverables for projects, including scopes of work, RFPs, layouts, specifications and commissioning support.
- Lead sustainability initiatives focused on energy and water reduction to support Net‑Zero goals.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 10–15 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing or factory environments.
- Strong understanding of industry standards for utility systems, mechanical integrity, PSM/RMP and other utility audits.
- Proficiency with digital tools for engineering design and analysis.
