About the role
The Executive Director for Strategic Workforce Initiatives leads high‑priority workforce programs at Savannah Technical College. Reporting to the Vice President for Economic Development, this senior leader shapes initiatives that align with regional industry and military needs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic workforce initiatives across the college.
- Oversee the VECTR Center, military outreach, SkillBridge, apprenticeships, and the FAME program.
- Lead the creation and operation of the Applied AI and Digital Infrastructure Center.
- Identify emerging workforce trends and design training, partnership, and solution strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, economic development agencies, workforce boards, military installations, and community partners.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs to align credit, non‑credit, and short‑term training with employer needs.
- Secure grants, contracts, sponsorships, and other funding sources to support initiatives.
- Set performance goals and monitor outcomes such as participation, completion, credentialing, and employment results.
- Supervise program staff and ensure effective delivery of all assigned programs.
Required profile
- Proven senior‑level experience in workforce development, economic development, or related fields.
- Strong leadership and program‑management skills with a track record of overseeing multiple initiatives.
- Excellent relationship‑building abilities with industry, government, and military partners.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing, securing funding, and managing budgets.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate emerging labor market data into actionable programs.
