Executive Director, Business and Industry Training

About the role

The Executive Director, Business and Industry Training leads the development and delivery of industry‑focused training programs for the Georgia Training Center and its partner colleges. Reporting to the Vice President for Economic Development, the role builds strong relationships with regional businesses, school districts, and economic development divisions to align training with workforce needs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training needs of local businesses and industry through site visits and stakeholder engagement.
• Design, customize, and oversee implementation of training programs, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Coordinate instructional staff, contracted instructors, and related services to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Promote and recruit for the Industrial Operations Technology Diploma and manage its internship component.
• Act as ambassador for the Georgia Training Center at community events and maintain a positive regional image.
• Collaborate with the Director for Instructional Operations and Economic Development Support to maintain the training calendar and marketing efforts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program development, training delivery, or economic development.
• Strong relationship‑building and partnership skills with business and educational institutions.
• Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and public‑speaking abilities.
