Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Trainer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking an ambitious Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Trainer to support its fast‑growing shipyard operations in Louisiana. The role will work closely with design and production teams to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs that ensure regulatory compliance and promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain environmental compliance for air permits, hazardous waste, SWPPP, and SPCC inspections.
• Develop and manage safety programs covering boat safety, water safety, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, ergonomics, powered industrial trucks, hazard communication, cranes & rigging, electrical/battery safety, lockout/tagout, and emergency action plans.
• Conduct safety meetings, trainings, Gemba walk‑throughs, and shift stand‑ups.
• Create Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for production and engineering processes.
• Lead hazard control, vendor/project management, and EHS event investigations.
• Respond to health or safety emergencies and activate emergency procedures.
• Support regulatory reporting, internal audits, emergency drills, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, public health, or related field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in maritime, boat, or aerospace environments.
• Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM is preferred.
