Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer

About the role

3M is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join its Greenville, SC plant. You will work with a global team of innovators to drive safety, health, and environmental excellence across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Promote EHS cultural excellence by encouraging personal responsibility for safety, health, and environment.
• Own plant EHS programs and training, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Machine Guarding, and Site Emergency Coordination.
• Interpret, implement, and maintain regulatory compliance for Federal, State, and Local environmental permits and regulations.
• Investigate workplace incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
• Assess high‑hazard processes to reduce risk and provide technical assistance to plant teams.
• Lead or support safety committee meetings and provide EHS guidance on equipment design, automation, and management‑of‑change processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of experience with local, state, and federal regulations (Fire, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• At least five years of experience managing EHS programs in a private, public, government, or military setting.
• Additional qualifications such as a Master’s degree, ten+ years in a manufacturing environment, or professional EHS certifications are a plus.
