About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join its Southwest District Office in Albany. In this entry‑level position you will help protect public health and the environment by ensuring compliance with water, air, and land protection regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct routine and follow‑up compliance inspections of drinking water and wastewater facilities.
- Receive, investigate, and document environmental complaints.
- Prepare and issue enforcement documents and schedule enforcement conferences.
- Review monitoring reports from permitted facilities and compile monthly compliance reports.
- Maintain databases for all assigned permitted facilities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for entry‑level Environmental Compliance Specialist (RCP020) position.
