Entry Level Network QA Engineer – Cell Phone Field Testing

About the role

The Network QA Engineer will support quality assurance activities for LTE and 5G field protocols, including SIM OTA activation testing. You will work primarily in the field with mobile handsets, validating user equipment against carrier and QA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site testing (≈80% of time) in vehicles and field locations, analyzing customer requirements and converting them into system specifications.
• Execute test plans, troubleshoot issues from customer labs, field sites and production networks, and provide optimization recommendations based on KPI trends.
• Travel up to 25% of the time to support live‑network testing and validation.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in a technical field.
• 0‑3 years of experience with 3G/4G/5G/LTE technologies (preferred).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end LTE and 5G network architecture.
• Experience with UE log post‑processing tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ShannonDM).
• Knowledge of OTA signaling, IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, ViLTE, RCS and SIM OTA activation.
• Ability to analyze and debug 4G/5G air‑interface and call‑processing protocols.
