Enterprise Planning and Engineering Specialist

About the role

The Enterprise Planning & Engineering (EP&E) Specialist is an entry‑level position designed to develop future technical leaders within R+L Carriers. Working side‑by‑side with senior engineers, you will support company‑wide initiatives such as network optimization, pricing improvement, capacity planning, and linehaul optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems to support organic growth.
• Perform optimization and modeling analyses to define data requirements for project solutions.
• Conduct cost‑benefit analyses to maximize return on investment.
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Develop and implement operational improvements and track implementation results.
• Support Business Review and Planning meetings with analytical findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• Willingness to travel 5‑10% and report to the nearest R+L Carriers terminal (Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, or Wilmington preferred).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work on cross‑functional projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote).
• Experience with Python, R, VBA, or similar coding tools for data analysis and automation.
• Ability to write SQL queries and work with relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
