About the role

Fathom Management is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project focused on financial systems, healthcare claims processing, enterprise integration, and cloud modernization. This remote, full‑time position requires a hands‑on architect who can create detailed design artifacts and work directly with engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain cloud and legacy architecture diagrams, infrastructure specifications, and integration models.
Evaluate technical alternatives, document infrastructure and integration designs, and produce enterprise architecture deliverables.
Support transformation of legacy systems, cloud migration, and modernization initiatives.
Collaborate with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with federal enterprise architecture standards.
Provide expertise in financial processing and healthcare claims environments, especially around X12, HL7, and related standards.

Required profile

Approximately 15 years of overall IT experience with 3–5 years of hands‑on enterprise architecture work.
Demonstrated experience in federal or heavily regulated environments, particularly financial processing and healthcare claims.
Ability to stay technically engaged while producing architecture artifacts.
U.S. citizenship required.
