Engineering Manager

About the role

At Cardless we are building a credit‑card and loyalty platform used by consumer businesses such as Coinbase, Bilt, Qatar Airways and Alibaba. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a product engineering team that works at the intersection of payments, money movement and financial infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high‑performing engineering team, owning technical health, execution and culture.
• Partner with the Head of Engineering on hiring strategy, technical roadmap and organizational planning.
• Work directly with external partners, compliance and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable systems.
• Champion thoughtful use of AI tooling to improve developer productivity and system design.

Required profile

• Several years of engineering management experience, preferably leading backend teams building complex, high‑scale systems.
• Strong technical depth to engage in system design discussions and challenge architectural decisions.
• Experience in fintech, payments, credit or debit card infrastructure and understanding of compliance and regulatory realities.
• Track record of scaling teams and systems, defining processes and building cultures that ship.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity with product, compliance, operations and external partners.

What we offer

• Annual salary $230,000‑$300,000 plus equity.
