Engineering Buyer – Mechanical Procurement Specialist

About the role

Pride Global is seeking an Engineering Buyer with a strong mechanical engineering background to manage the procurement of engineered components and services for capital equipment manufacturing. The role bridges the engineering and purchasing teams, ensuring projects meet cost, quality, delivery, and compliance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Procure engineered components and services in alignment with project specifications, codes (ASME, PED) and cost targets.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to validate supplier capabilities.
• Lead supplier negotiations, cost‑reduction initiatives, and contract management.
• Monitor supplier performance, handle NCRs, and drive continuous process improvements.
• Participate in cross‑functional project teams to ensure design‑supplier alignment.
• Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations on procurement status and strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years of technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a capital‑equipment manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of strong negotiation and supplier management.
• Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to senior leadership.
