Employment Data & Research Intern (Summer 2026)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Summer 2026 intern to support employment data and research activities that help clients achieve self‑sufficiency. You will engage directly with clients, gather and organize data, and assist the Early Employment team in delivering services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to inform clients about employment opportunities and services.
• Update client contact information and record changes in IRC systems.
• Provide support to clients facing barriers such as language, work experience, childcare, or transportation.
• Consolidate and organize service delivery data in spreadsheets and databases.
• Track employment placements, progress, and related data in IRC’s database.
• Assist in developing new service opportunities for program participants.
• Research job openings, conduct employment assessments, and help create resumes and cover letters.
• Transport clients to employment‑related activities and document all interactions.
• Attend orientation, model professional workplace behavior, and submit monthly timesheets.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and a counseling/coaching mindset.
• Comfortable working with diverse, global populations.
• Willingness to transport clients as needed.
