Employee Health and Wellness Program Director

About the role

Tarleton State University is seeking an Employee Health and Wellness Program Director to lead the design, implementation and management of a comprehensive health and wellness program for faculty and staff. Based on the Stephenville campus, the role reports to the Director of Employee Support and works within the Division of Human Resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a university‑wide health and wellness strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver wellness initiatives, including fitness, mental‑health, nutrition and preventive health programs.
• Manage program budgets, vendor relationships and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with campus partners, health providers and employee groups to assess needs and measure outcomes.
• Oversee program staff, provide training and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
• Prepare reports and communications for senior leadership and the university community.
• Occasionally travel between campuses and support events outside regular business hours.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in developing and managing employee health and wellness programs, preferably in a higher‑education setting.
• Strong organizational and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm with occasional evenings, weekends or holidays.
