Emergency Radiologist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking full‑time and part‑time Emergency Radiologists to provide coverage for emergency department and inpatient imaging across its main campus and community hospitals. The position offers flexible shift patterns, including evenings and overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and report ER and inpatient radiology examinations from 5 PM to 7 AM.
• Provide coverage at Ochsner Main Campus as well as multiple community hospitals and urgent‑care centers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgery, transplant, cardiac, neurosurgery, MSK and stroke services.

Required profile

• Board‑certified radiologist, preferably fellowship‑trained in abdominal imaging, MSK, pediatrics or neuroradiology.
• Availability for 1‑week‑on, 2‑weeks‑off schedule or similar shift patterns.
• Ability to work in a collegial environment with 5‑6 radiologists on duty each night, including residents.

Required skills

• Proficiency with advanced radiology technology and PACS/RIS systems.
• Experience with AI and Natural Language Processing tools for image prioritization.
• Data‑mining and research capabilities within a large imaging database.
