Emergency Medical Dispatcher

About the role

Provide professional and courteous service while receiving emergency and non‑emergency calls, dispatching appropriate units, and maintaining communication with field personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and triage incoming calls, gather necessary information, and dispatch units based on acuity, availability, and location.
• Maintain accurate incident logs, monitor radio frequencies, hospital diversions, and video surveillance.
• Operate communications equipment, computer‑aided dispatch systems, and manage emergency contact lists.
• Perform clerical duties, equipment maintenance, and assist with training and supervision as needed.

Required profile

• Preference for EMS dispatch experience and knowledge of Cambridge street system.
• Ability to multitask, stay calm under stress, and maintain focus while directing others.
• Must comply with safety programs and be able to sit for extended periods.
• Pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
