Electronics Technician – Voice Communication Systems

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to support the deployment of Rohde & Schwarz IP Voice Communication Systems at Air Traffic Control Towers across the United States. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining voice switch equipment and related networking hardware to ensure reliable air‑traffic communications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation and installation of voice switches at ATC Centers, Enroute Centers, and Terminal TRACONs.
• Install and configure servers, routers, switches, and other networking devices, and secure equipment racks.
• Terminate LAN cables, terminal blocks, and other wiring, ensuring signal integrity.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate audio and voice communication equipment using schematics and test instruments.
• Document installations, repairs, and maintenance activities while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing fiber optics, radio control systems, and complex electronic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Physical capability to lift equipment and work in confined spaces, with up to 100 % travel within the USA.

Required skills

• Fiber‑optic installation and termination.
• Radio Control Systems (RCE) troubleshooting.
• LAN cable termination and wiring.
• Use of digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Internet, and email.
