Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

About the role

Serve Robotics is building autonomous sidewalk robots for urban deliveries. The Electrical Engineer will design, validate, and bring‑up the electrical subsystems that power these platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate circuits, PCBs, and interconnect systems for autonomous robots.
• Develop schematics, select components, and create electrical designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
• Support PCB layout reviews and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Perform hardware bring‑up, validation, and characterization together with firmware and software teams.
• Troubleshoot system‑level issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, test results, and design records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years designing and testing electrical systems in robotics, consumer electronics, or similar domains.
• Hands‑on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
• Proven ability to debug and integrate embedded hardware.

Required skills

• PCB design and circuit schematic creation (Altium preferred).
• Debugging with oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
• Embedded system integration and prototype bring‑up.
• High‑speed circuit design and signal‑integrity analysis.
• Interface debugging (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, USB).
• Scripting for test automation (Python, Bash).
• EMC/EMI compliance testing.
• Experience with Nvidia Jetson platform and sensor modalities (camera, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonic).
• Cellular networking and cable‑harness design.
