EHS Manager – Data Center Operations

About the role

Amentum's Telecommunications Group is looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for data center operations. The manager designs, implements and manages EHS programs aligned with local, state and federal regulations, protecting personnel, assets and operational continuity of mission-critical infrastructure. The position is based in Northern Virginia, with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures and standards for data center environments
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, and oversee on-site EHS performance including subcontractors
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for electrical, HVAC and fire suppression systems
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other applicable standards
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, including fire, chemical and electrical drills
• Manage environmental initiatives such as waste management, energy conservation and water usage
• Deliver EHS training for employees, contractors and vendors
• Maintain EHS documentation, reporting and metrics for internal reviews and external audits

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience, ideally in data centers, industry or high-tech settings
• Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001
• Preferred: experience with electrical safety, confined space entry and hazardous materials management
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field

Required skills

• Preferred: familiarity with data center infrastructure (UPS, generators, cooling)
• Preferred: proficiency with EHS software, Excel and reporting tools
• Certifications such as CSP, CIH or CHMM are a plus
