Educator Support Specialist – Teacher Evaluation (GaLEADS)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Education seeks an Educator Support Specialist to coordinate state and district practices that promote teacher recruitment, retention, and growth through competency‑based learning and performance tools. This remote position serves the Southeast Georgia service area and collaborates with district leaders to advance instructional quality.

Key responsibilities

• Implement systems in competency‑based learning, integrated professional development, and career advancement for educators.
• Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning that elevates effective teaching practices.
• Analyze data using multiple measures to inform growth indicators for students, teachers, and schools.
• Provide job‑embedded supports such as observations, lesson studies, and peer observation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission‑approved accredited institution.
• Experience modeling effective teacher behavior to adult learners in various instructional settings.
• Expert knowledge of adult learning and change‑management processes.
• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and seven years of program‑management experience (or equivalent).
