About the role
The Georgia Department of Education is seeking two experienced Results‑Driven Accountability Program Specialists to oversee special education compliance across local districts. This field‑based position involves traveling statewide, providing guidance, and ensuring policies align with federal and state regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and improve continuous improvement processes for students with disabilities.
- Review district policies, procedures, and practices for compliance.
- Develop corrective action plans and address non‑compliance promptly.
- Prepare guidelines, memoranda, reports, and presentation materials.
- Conduct training and staff development for local districts.
- Submit accurate data on time and manage use of funds per mandates.
Required profile
- Doctorate or specialist degree in school psychology, special education, or educational leadership.
- Extensive experience in K‑12 special education, supervision, and policy development.
- Proven ability to deliver technical assistance and professional learning at district and school levels.
- Willingness to reside in Northwest or North Central Georgia RESA areas.
