Early Career Internal Auditor – Santa Clara, CA

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an early‑career Internal Auditor to join its Santa Clara team. You will support audit programs, perform fieldwork, and contribute to continuous improvement projects while developing a solid foundation in audit methodology and SOX compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit programs of moderate complexity within project timelines, following GIA/IIA standards.
• Participate in audit planning, conduct process interviews, and document key attributes.
• Perform audit fieldwork, maintain complete work papers, and ensure quality and re‑performance standards.
• Identify audit issues, prepare issue write‑ups, and consolidate findings for reports.
• Conduct Cut‑Off testing and support the Cut‑Off lead in issue consolidation.
• Perform SOX testing and communicate status to the PMO.
• Contribute to GIA Continuous Improvement Projects (GCIP) individually or as part of a team.

• Demonstrates expanding conceptual knowledge in audit discipline and broader business understanding.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members and solves straightforward problems using technical judgment.
• Impacts quality of own work and that of the team while adhering to guidelines and policies.
• Effectively explains complex audit information in clear terms.
