Distribution Center Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for its Tracy distribution center. The supervisor is responsible for the success of assigned functions in a complex distribution center environment, working with the Maintenance Manager to set strategies and objectives that maximize productivity and leverage expenses. The role manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and the facility, analyzes trends and solves problems, and typically manages a team of seven direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop associates through formal and informal programs, give performance-based feedback, ensure technical certifications are achieved and sustained, and maintain a union-free workplace.
• Ensure a culture of safety by following Home Depot safety policies, monitoring safety and physical security, and inspecting equipment and facilities regularly.
• Manage facility repair, maintenance and installation, source and review contractor bids, select contractors and ensure they meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports and statistics, and recommend and implement cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facility and equipment.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field, or preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 2 years of work experience minimum, preferred 3 years; preferred 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, cross-functional collaboration, facilities management background and change management experience.

Working conditions

• Typically involves intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting material or equipment.
• Regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes.
• Overnight travel of 5% to 20% of the time.

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $70,000 - $130,000.
