About the role
We are seeking a proactive Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this position you will be directly responsible for scheduling drivers, coordinating deliveries and pickups, and acting as the primary liaison between customers, drivers, and management.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule drivers for freight deliveries and collections, ensuring optimal routing.
- Communicate pickup and drop‑off details, special requests, and timing with customers and vendors.
- Plan predetermined routes, monitor traffic conditions, and adjust plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, including call logs, route changes, and delivery times.
- Track truck maintenance schedules and log vendor complaints.
- Answer phone inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal teams.
Required profile
- Strong time‑management aptitude and ability to multitask.
- Excellent knowledge of local and state traffic laws.
- Ability to make quick routing adjustments and prioritize tasks.
- Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with computer software and dispatch technologies.
