About the role
Anthropic is seeking a Director to lead US international tax reporting and compliance. This senior position will own the US international components of the global income tax provision and build a scalable compliance process.
Key responsibilities
- Own the US international components of the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision, including NCTI/GILTI, Subpart F, FDDEI/FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credit calculations, Section 861 expense allocation, and E&P tracking.
- Perform outside basis difference analysis, indefinite reinvestment assertions under ASC 740‑30, and support valuation allowance and uncertain tax position assessments.
- Design and operate SOX controls over the international provision process and support external audit.
- Lead preparation and review of US international tax returns and related workpapers (Forms 5471, 8992, 926, expanding to 1118, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8993, etc.).
- Support US withholding tax compliance (Forms 1042/1042‑S) and cross‑border payment analysis.
- Build compliance calendars, data pipelines, and automation tools, including tax technology and AI tooling.
- Assist tax planning and M&A teams with modeling US international tax consequences of new market entry, entity structuring, intercompany arrangements, and financing.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments (e.g., OBBBA guidance, Pillar Two) and model their provision and cash tax impacts.
