Director, Strategic Sourcing - Manufacturing

About the role

The Director of Strategic Sourcing – Manufacturing leads the end‑to‑end procurement strategy for contract manufacturing and repack operations across North America. This senior position directly influences cost of goods sold, product quality, supply continuity, and speed‑to‑market for core and emerging brands.

Key responsibilities

• Own procurement strategy and governance for a large, high‑visibility manufacturing spend portfolio linked to the NAOU P&L.
• Set strategic direction for contract manufacturing capabilities, network design, and make‑vs‑buy decisions.
• Negotiate, implement, and manage long‑term MSAs and SOWs to ensure optimal cost, service, and supply continuity.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified contract manufacturers aligned with future business needs.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Legal, Finance, and Brand teams to integrate sourcing strategies.
• Lead complex, multi‑variable sourcing decisions using advanced analytics, should‑cost models, benchmarking, and scenario planning.
• Identify and deliver productivity, cost‑saving, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Coach and develop the contract manufacturing procurement team.

Required profile

• Senior procurement or supply‑chain leader with extensive experience in contract manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale sourcing strategies and complex negotiations.
• Strong ability to influence senior leadership and act as a trusted business partner.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Legal, Finance, and Brand teams.
