Director of Student Accounts

About the role

The Director of Student Accounts leads the financial operations that support student billing, refunds, and reporting at Augusta Technical College. Reporting to the Vice President of Administrative Services, this senior position ensures accurate reconciliation of accounts and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Balance accounts receivable between PeopleSoft and Banner systems.
• Process student refunds and ensure fees are correctly attached to courses.
• Train, assign, and supervise staff while providing guidance on policies.
• Maintain internal controls, review account balances for accuracy, and assist with GAAP entries.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, including 1098‑T filings and year‑end closing statements.
• Develop and update detail codes in Banner to meet TCSG requirements.
• Communicate account information to students and address inquiries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in higher‑education finance or a comparable financial management role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and higher‑education billing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage complex financial operations.
