About the role
The Director of Philanthropy leads frontline fundraising efforts for Texas A&M University, focusing on major and planned‑giving initiatives that support the university’s strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 70‑90 major and planned‑giving prospects and donors.
- Identify, cultivate and steward relationships with alumni, friends and other supporters.
- Solicit major outright and deferred gifts aligned with the university’s strategic priorities.
- Develop, coordinate and maintain comprehensive fundraising and stewardship strategies for assigned prospects.
- Collaborate closely with deans, board members and university leadership to advance fundraising initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience in frontline fundraising, preferably in higher‑education advancement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of major donors and planned‑giving prospects.
- Strong relationship‑building and stewardship capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
