Director of Online Practicum Education (Clinical Assistant Professor)

About the role

The School of Social Work at the University of Arkansas seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as Director of Online Practicum Education. This twelve‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty appointment provides leadership for the online MSW practicum program, ensuring high‑quality field experiences for remote students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain community partnerships to secure practicum placements for online MSW students.
• Provide individualized field advising, coordinate internship placements, and supervise when needed.
• Oversee the use of Tevera, the online practicum management system, delivering training and support to instructors and stakeholders.
• Teach and manage online internship seminar courses, and serve as a primary resource for students, practicum instructors, and community partners.
• Plan and execute the annual Practicum Instructor Appreciation Breakfast and present Excellence in Practicum Education Awards.

Required profile

• Master of Social Work from an accredited institution, earned by the start date.
• Minimum two years of post‑MSW practice experience and eligibility for Arkansas social work licensure.
• Evidence of effective teaching, curriculum design, or field supervision experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a faculty team and engage community partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of practicum education and accreditation standards (CSWE EPAS).
• Strategic leadership and program management capabilities.
• Proficiency with educational technology platforms, specifically the Tevera system.
• Strong relationship‑building and community partnership skills.
