Director of Foreign Trade

About the role

The Director of Foreign Trade leads Bosch's global trade compliance and customs strategy, ensuring regulatory adherence while optimizing duty costs and supporting efficient international supply chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute foreign trade and customs strategy aligned with corporate growth, sourcing, manufacturing and logistics objectives.
• Lead trade‑related initiatives such as localization, nearshoring, global sourcing and supply‑chain transformation.
• Oversee import/export classification, valuation, country‑of‑origin determinations and customs documentation.
• Drive duty‑optimization programs, including FTAs, FTZs, bonded warehouses and drawback programs.
• Manage relationships with customs authorities, brokers, freight forwarders and other trade service providers.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive experience in global trade compliance, customs or international logistics.
• 5+ years leadership experience managing trade compliance or customs organizations.
• Deep knowledge of customs regulations, international trade agreements, tariff classification and duty‑optimization programs.

Required skills

• Experience with trade automation platforms such as SAP GTS or GTXXI.
• Strong understanding of customs regulations and import/export controls.
