Director of Credit

About the role

Capchase is looking for a Director of Credit to lead large‑ticket underwriting and shape the credit function as the company expands its financing products. You will own the most complex credit files, drive policy, and work closely with capital‑markets and syndication partners.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite large‑ticket commercial credit (>$1M) using AI‑enhanced financial analysis and present memos to the Credit Committee.
• Hold delegated signing authority for sub‑$500k deals and act as the escalation point for analysts, sales, and vendor partners.
• Develop and maintain syndication standards, manage referrals to capital‑markets partners, and build new syndication relationships.
• Design leasing and transaction structures across multiple jurisdictions, handling collateral, guaranties, and UCC filings.
• Co‑own credit policy with the VP of Risk, monitor portfolio performance, and drive automation in the decisioning stack.

Required profile

• 6‑12+ years of commercial credit experience in equipment leasing, vendor finance, specialty finance, or middle‑market lending.
• Proven track record underwriting and signing large‑ticket deals ($1M‑$2.5M) with genuine leasing background.
• Experience with credit syndication, delegated authority, and fast‑paced decision making.
• Strong written communication – ability to craft persuasive credit memos for internal and external committees.
